RUPELA - English Literary Association
RUPELA, the Ruparel English Literary Association attempts to foster students’ interest in and appreciation of language and literature. Through activities like elocution competition, film screenings and discussions, visits to libraries and performances of plays, students are made aware of the latest trends in the field of literature. Students are encouraged to make presentations and participate in poetry readings in order to build their confidence, to help them discover their talents and to broaden and deepen their knowledge of the subject.

Objectives of the association:
This is an association of students of Political Science. POLIS organizes various activities like
‘CHEMARC’– Chemistry Association of Ruparel College is an Association of the department. Invited talks, competitions, career guidance, training and workshops are some of the activities conducted under this Association. The department has a departmental library having more than 335 reference books to facilitate easy access to the study material.
A talk on “Chemistry....My ladder in the Corporate World” by Dr Uday Pandit,Former Head, Manufacturing & Projects – Construction Chemicals, BASF – India, was organized with the purpose of motivating the students by enlightening them on Success of a person from middle class background reaching great heights after B.Sc. Chemistry, to make them aware of Industry trends and requirements & to make them think of Entrepreneurship as an option to consider. The guest speaker spoke about his progress in the industry, gave an insight on industry trends and made them aware of how government of India is encouraging Entrepreneurship. He had an interactive session with the students, Clarifying their apprehensions and doubts.
Felicitation of Meritorious T Y BSc & M.Sc. students and Talk on “Tips for rising to the top with Chemistry as a Career” byDr.P.Chobe, Ex GM BASF was organized to recognize the efforts of our past students for performing well in their final year and to motivate current students to work hard and achieve O/A grade. The objective was also to expose them to a senior person from the industry, who could guide them on various career opportunities after graduation in Chemistry .The achievers were awarded certificates and were given a small token for recognition of their hard work.
